In safety-test results released today by the IIHS, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica truly rose to the top. It is the only minivan available in the 2016 calendar year to earn a Top Safety Pick+.

The Pacifica owes its impact-resisting prowess to a body structure composed of 72-percent high-strength steel, a large portion of which is Advanced High Strength Steel -- three times stronger than conventional steel.

Not only did the 2017 Pacifica earn the highest safety ratings in each of five crash tests, including side, rear, and two types of frontal impacts, it also earned a "Superior" rating for its available Forward Collision Warning-Plus. Forward Collision Warning-Plus is the only collision-prevention system available in a minivan to use sensor-fusion technology. Typically only found in luxury models, sensor-fusion uses both radar and camera sensors combined for better precision when detecting potential front impacts.

In IIHS track testing, the 2017 Pacifica with Forward Collision Warning-Plus was able to brake in time to completely prevent a crash at 12mph and 25mph. No other minivan can do that.

As a parent, protecting your family is your number-one concern. That means, if you are shopping for a spacious and sophisticated minivan, there's only one real choice: the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Find it for sale in El Paso at Dick Poe Chrysler Jeep.
